Hormonal health is not isolated to one organ system. It reflects communication between the brain, ovaries, thyroid, digestion, stress response, and immune system.
At Deschutes Acupuncture, we support women through every stage of reproductive health using evidence-based Traditional Chinese Medicine and modern integrative insight.
WE COMMONLY SUPPORT PAITENTS IN BEND EXPERIENCING:
- Irregular or painful cycles
- Dysmenorrhea
- Heavy or light menstrual flow
- PMS and PMDDPCOS
- Endometriosis
- Amenorrhea
- Unexplained infertility
- Support during IVF or IUI
- Recurrent pregnancy loss support
- Perimenopause and menopausal symptoms
Our goal is to regulate cycles, optimize ovulation, improve uterine blood flow, and support whole-body hormonal balance.
This care is for individuals who:
- Are trying to conceive naturally
- Are undergoing IVF, IUI, or other assisted reproductive treatments
- Want to regulate irregular cycles
- Experience painful or disruptive menstruation
- Have been told “everything looks normal” but still don’t feel balanced
- Want a comprehensive, root-cause approach to women’s health
We work collaboratively alongside OB/GYNs, reproductive endocrinologists, and primary care providers when appropriate.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, reproductive health reflects the strength and harmony of the Kidney, Liver, and Spleen systems.
Common patterns may include:
- Blood deficiency
- Blood stagnation
- Liver Qi stagnation
- Damp accumulation
- Kidney Yin or Yang deficiency
Rather than labeling a condition alone (like PCOS or “unexplained infertility”), we identify the underlying pattern contributing to hormonal imbalance.
Cycle regulation is not forced — it is restored through systemic balance.
Treatment may include:
- Acupuncture to regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis
- Electro-acupuncture to improve ovarian and uterine blood flow
- Chinese herbal medicine to regulate cycle phases and support ovulation
- Lifestyle and nutrition guidance
- Nervous system regulation to reduce stress-related hormonal disruption
When working alongside IVF or IUI, treatment timing is coordinated with your cycle phase and procedure dates.
Each session is tailored to where you are in your cycle and reproductive journey.
For fertility support:
- 3 months of consistent care is ideal when possible
- 1–2 treatments per week, depending on timing and goals
For general cycle regulation:
- 4–6 sessions
- Reassess and adjust based on cycle response
Many patients transition to maintenance support during early pregnancy or perimenopause.
We do not reduce fertility to a lab value or a single diagnosis.
We evaluate sleep, digestion, stress patterns, thyroid function, emotional health, and circulation — because reproductive health is an integrated system.
Patients often share that they feel deeply heard for the first time. That listening is not just bedside manner — it is the diagnostic foundation of care.

I’ve been going to Deschutes Acupuncture for about 2 years now, originally for chronic headaches. When my husband and I started TTC and weren’t having success after 8 months, Dr. Aleia shifted my treatments to incorporate fertility and hormonal acupuncture. She explained everything clearly, supported me emotionally through the process, and made me feel hopeful again. After 4 sessions focused on fertility, I became pregnant — something I’ll always be grateful for! Now we’re thinking about baby number two, and there’s no question where I’ll be going for support!
